Académicos rechazan fallo que ordena al exrector de la UNAM indemnizar a asesora de tesis de Yasmín Esquivel

Más de 100 académicos de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y profesionales rechazaron el fallo judicial que ordena que el exrector de la UNAM, Enrique Graue Wiechers, y el exdirector de la Facultad de Estudios Superiores (FES) Aragón, Fernando Macedo, paguen 15 millones de pesos a Martha Rodríguez Ortiz, asesora de la tesis de la ministra de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación, Yasmín Esquivel.

«La sentencia de la juez Flor de María Hernández Mijangos premia a la asesora de tesis ostensiblemente plagiadas y castiga a los funcionarios que, en representación de la UNAM, tuvieron que ocuparse de ese asunto. La justicia, en este caso, es deformada para favorecer una venganza política«, señalaron los académicos en una carta difundida en redes sociales este martes.

Asimismo, calificaron como abuso de poder y manipulación de la justicia, la sentencia emitida a favor de la profesora Rodríguez Ortíz, quien había denunciado a Graue y Macedo por daño moral.

«La juez Cuarto de lo Civil de la Ciudad de México estimó que la difusión de su conducta y las declaraciones de quienes encabezaban a la UNAM y a la FES Aragón le ocasionaron perjuicio a Rodríguez Ortiz».

Los más de 100 firmantes, entre los que también hay abogados, investigadores, científicos y economistas, confiaron en que las instancias judiciales puedan reivindicar su decisión a favor del exrector de la UNAM y el exdirector de la FES Aragon, y con ello desechen la demanda de la asesora de la tesis de Yasmín Esquivel.

«(La condena impuesta) expresa de forma escandalosa las desviaciones a las que conduce la manipulación de la justicia con propósitos políticos», sentenciaron.

Cabe recordar que en diciembre de 2022, Latinus dio a conocer una investigación de Guillermo Sheridan en la que revela que Esquivel plagió su tesis de licenciatura a Edgar Ulises Báez Gutiérrez, la cual fue presentada un año antes que la de la ministra ante la Facultad de Derecho de la UNAM. La asesora de ambos fue la profesora Martha Rodríguez Ortiz y por estos hechos fue despedida.

Asimismo, en este contexto, los académicos destacaron que posterior a revelarse el plagio de Yasmín Esquivel «se supo que otras tesis, asesoradas por la misma profesora, tambie´n tienen plagios comprobables».

“Ya ha sido ominoso que la ministra Esquivel obstaculice el ejercicio de transparencia y de ética académica que habría con la publicación del dictamen sobre su tesis. A este abuso de poder, ahora se quiere castigar a los entonces funcionarios universitarios que no hicieron más que cumplir con su deber”, se lee en la carta.

Entre los firmantes están el sociólogo Roger Bartra, la exsecretaria del medio ambiente Julia Carabias Lillo, el jurista Diego Valadés; el exconsejero presidente del INE, Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, y el primer presidente del Instituto Federal Electoral, José Woldenberg.

Además, de el exconsejero del INE y académico en temas de economía, Ciro Murayama Rendón; académico, especializado en políticas públicas, Rolando Cordera, y el exdirector del CIDE Sergio López Ayllón.
